A wonderful gift for baby's birth (and a great way to deliver them!)

Apologies for another food post this week.... but it's Friday and I've got yummy sweets on the brain!

I was blessed to be introduced to these amazing treats when Little Man was first born. My sister brought them up to the hospital the day after he was born and they were seriously a staple in my diet for the first 3 months! Not only are they delicious but they do wonders for nursing moms in terms of milk production (sorry for the TMI!)

In the last couple of years it has been a baby boom among my friends and family so this recipe has become a staple that I could make in my sleep! But recently I have started jazzing up the delivery method by using a gift wrapped box and adding a custom recipe card. This works out great since almost every one who tries them wants to make another batch. Not too mention it's just so cute!

Here is the recipe:

1 Cup butter
1 Cup sugar
1 Cup brown sugar
2 Large eggs
2 Cup flour
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
4 Tbsp water
2 Tbsp flaxseed meal
1 tsp vanilla
3 Cup thick cut oats
1 Cup chocolate chips
2 Tbsp Brewers Yeast

Preheat oven at 375.
Mix flaxseed & water, set aside 3-5 minutes.
Cream butter and sugar.
Add eggs.
Stir flaxseed mix into butter mix & add vanilla.
Beat until well blended.
Sift dry ingredients, except oats & choc chips.
Add butter mix to dry ingredients.
Stir in the oats and then the choc chips.
Drop on parchment paper on baking sheet.
Bake 8-12 minutes.
Eat at least 5 daily and enjoy!!!

And here is how I packaged them up with a cute little recipe card printed on some white cardstock! Below is the recipe card that I used for anyone who wants to print one up also!

I am linking this post up at Serenity Now today!

  1. This is FAB! I cannot wait to make them. It must be that time of year, because everyone I know seems to have JUST had a baby or has one (or two) on the way! Thanks for sharing!
